When we began to develop PUNTACANA Resort & Club over 40 years ago, the concept of “sustainable development” didn’t yet exist. We made all of our important decisions based on common sense, our limited resources, and a deep respect for the Dominican Republic, its people, and its incredible natural resources. As it turns out, without consciously meaning to, many of our early decisions relate directly to what is now known as sustainable development.
In 1994, we created the PUNTACANA Ecological Foundation to protect and preserve the natural resources of the Punta Cana region, while contributing to the sustainable development of the Dominican Republic. We later complimented our commitment to environmental stewardship with the creation of the PUNTACANA Foundation, a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to improving conditions in the local communities of the Punta Cana region, primarily through programs in health, education, and cultural activities.
We invite you to visit www.puntacana.org to learn more about our diverse environmental and social programs.

1500 acres of pristine forest has been meticulously preserved to offer a glimpse of nature as it is meant to exist. Fifteen Natural Spring Water Lagoons inhabit this private oasis with natural sea life.
Founded in 1994, The Ecological Foundation is dedicated to protecting the national treasures of the Dominican Republic.
