With Newly Refreshed Casitas, Stunning Surroundings, and an Array of Family Amenities, Puntacana Hotel is the Perfect Place for a Fabulous Family Vacation
Puntacana, Dominican Republic – The Puntacana Hotel at Puntacana Resort & Club completed renovations on the beachfront Casitas and guest rooms in October 2009, offering updated furnishings, flat screen TVs and adding a fresh and modern feel – to an ideal destination for families and groups alike to enjoy a budget-friendly vacation together in a relaxed setting and a beautiful location.
The two and three-bedroom Casitas are located directly on the beach with either a scenic ocean or garden view. The beachfront Casitas offer bedrooms with a king-size bed or bedrooms with two full-size beds, along with a common area including a living-dining room and a garden or terrace for guests’ privacy and comfort.
For families visiting the property, each Casita will be equipped with open air living rooms so families can relax together in a large environment. And for older children, activities such as horseback riding, tennis, scuba diving (coral reefs and sunken ships located just offshore), Segway Touring, water skiing, sailing, fishing, windsurfing and kayaks are certain to keep even the most active son or daughter entertained.
Alberto Abreu, General Manager of Puntacana Resort & Club, stated, “The Casitas are literally right on the beach; the beauty of the location complemented by the variety of activities available to guests makes for the perfect holiday, creating memories that will last a lifetime.”
The Casitas are in the perfect location at Puntacana Resort & Club, just steps away from the azure waters of the Caribbean Sea and the resort's family-friendly pool and restaurants. Other accommodations at the resort include the exclusive Oscar de la Renta-designed Tortuga Bay Hotel a Leading Small Hotel of the World and the Domincan Republic's only AAA Five Diamond awarded hotel.
The Puntacana Hotel at Puntacana Resort & Club offers a world of opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Its Six Senses Spa offers a wide range of holistic wellness, rejuvenation and beauty treatments to balance the senses - all administered under the guidance of expert therapists from around the world. In addition to the spa, the resort boasts two championship golf courses designed by Tom Fazio and P. B. Dye, a full service marina, a private nature reserve, an international biodiversity center (The Puntacana Ecological Foundation), a horse ranch and several gated residential communities. With so much to offer, it’s no wonder the property was awarded with the Leading Hotels of The World prestigious Commitment to Excellence Award in December of 2007.
The development of Puntacana Resort & Club dates back to 1971 when Dominican businessman and hotelier Frank R. Rainieri and Theodore W. Kheel, the prominent New York attorney and labor mediator, created a partnership to construct a resort and real estate community that respects the natural habitat of Punta Cana while offering a world-class vacation experience. Maintaining a dedication to sustainable tourism, Puntacana Resort & Club has since grown to encompass over 26 square miles and now includes Tortuga Bay, Six Senses Spa, the Puntacana Ecological Foundation, four residential communities (Corales, Hacienda, Tortuga and Arrecife), a full service marina, seven restaurants, a shopping village, two chamiponship golf courses by Tom Fazio and P. B. Dye, and Punta Cana International Airport, a modern facility that incorporates innovative and eco-friendly design. In 1997, Julio Iglesias and Oscar de la Renta joined the Group as co-investors and have made Puntacana Resort & Club their home. Currently, Punta Cana is the most highly visited Caribbean destination and is easily accessible from all over the globe.
The Puntacana Ecological Foundation (PCEF) is a non-profit foundation established in 1994 by the Grupo Puntacana to protect and restore the natural resources of the Punta Cana region and contribute to the sustainable development of the country. The Foundation is endowed with a 1,500-acre ecological park and reserve, filled with an array of local flora and fauna, experimental gardens, and a petting zoo. The Puntacana Ecological Foundation works directly with the Puntacana Resort & Club and numerous partners and researchers from around the world (such as researchers from Harvard, Columbia and Cornell Universities) to protect and contribute to the rational use of natural resources and respect for nature as a model for the sustainable development of destinations. Major projects include providing education and health care to the local community as well as protecting and conserving the area’s coral reefs.
