Carnival Information!! Saturday March 7th at 4:00pm!!
Dear Property Owners:
We are a week away from the 2nd Puntacana Carnival and we are looking forward to having eveyone enjoy the festivities!! The date is Saturday March 7th!
Carnival will start at 4:00pm at 1ero de Noviembre Boulevard in Puntacana Village.
There will be a resort shuttle service starting at 3:00pm doing a The Puntacana Hotel-La Cana Golf & Beach Clubhouse-Puntacana Village route every half an hour until 1:00am that night in case you want to continue to enjoy the Puntacana Village night life that evening.
T-shirts and bracelets are already on sale at the Real Estate office at Puntacana Village (Galerias # 43). You can stop by and get your tickets now!
Prices for this fun event will be:
US $ 10.00 for our home owners and residents of Puntacana Resort & Club and Puntacana Village.
US $ 15.00 for the general public.

Solid Waste Management Recycling System
Dear Property Owners:
In an ongoing effort to provide an efficient and "green" waste management program, PUNTACANA Resort & Club is implementing a recycling system designed specifically for our residents. Effective February 23rd, 2009 the Manager, Coordinator, and Supervisor of the Solid Waste Management Program will contact each homeowner personally and schedule a home visitation consultation. At this home visit, the Solid Waste Management team will orientate you with the procedure moving forward and all the necessary details involved with the program. We will begin with Corales Homeowners and will advise the other communities of their upcoming appointments.
PUNTACANA Resort & Club is committed to the protection and preservation of our environment and have pioneered this mission over the years. We welcome you to join our cause and work together on this sustainable recycling program.

We wanted to bring to your attention that throughout the past couple of weeks we have been working closely with Codetel, the phone company, regarding some problems that we have encountered with our emergency number, 9911.
Please notice that at this time the extension number 9911 is out of service and Codetel has not yet satisfactorily explained the reasons for the interruption of this service. In the meantime, if you wish to call our emergency number, you can do it by dialing the full number 809-959-9911 instead of just the extension number.
Be assured that we are working with Codetel in order to solve this matter as soon as possible and we will inform you when it’s solved. Another important number to have is 809-959-GATE, which is the number for Puntacana Resort & Club’s Main Gate.

Notice of Reduction in Electricity Rates
Dear Property Owners:
As of February 2009 and as a direct result of stabilizing fuel prices, the kilowatt per served hour rate will be decreased from US$0.27 cents to US$0.23 cents.
Because of our commitment to preserving the environment we are taking measures to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels. At this time, we would like to share some of these measures with you, to help you save energy in your home:
-Remember to turn off the lights and air conditioner whenever you’re not in that particular area of your home.
-Keep the filters and evaporators of your air conditioner clean, this helps save energy.
-Use low consumption light-bulbs, this can reduce up to 15% of your lights consumption. You can purchase energy efficient bulbs in many places including Ferretería Americana or in your local super market.
-If you have an electric water heater(s) turn it on 20 minutes before you shower.
-Install a timer for your electric hot-water heater, which will automatically turn it off.
-Check that the water heater thermostat is functioning adequately and it is calibrated properly.
-If possible install or change electric water heaters for water or propane gas heaters, these are less expensive and more efficient. Solar hot-water heaters can also be installed at competitive prices.
-Install a timer for the water recirculation system for your pool. Permanent water recirculation is unnecessary, 3 - 4 cycles of recirculation per day, of 15 minutes or less, is enough to maintain the pool water in optimal state.
