PUNTACANA Beekeeping Program 3rd Anniversary / 3er Aniversario del Apiario PUNTACANA
Dear Property Owners:
Join us as we celebrate the PUNTACANA Beekeeping Program´s 3rd Anniversary tomorrow Saturday January 16th at 10:00am at The PUNTACANA Ecological Foundation. Our experienced beekeeper ¨El Rubio¨ will give a demonstration on how the program works, offering honey, fruits and even champagne.
All are invited. We recommend jeans and long pants.
The Ecological foundation will provide the appropriate gear.
See you there!!

Ayuda de Grupo PUNTACANA a Haití PUNTACANA Group Aid to Haiti
Estimados Amigos,
El Grupo PUNTACANA, a través de su Fundación PUNTACANA, nuestra Parroquia de Nstra. Señora de Punta Cana, el Club Rotario Punta Cana-Bávaro, las Comunidades Católicas Tabor y Tierra Prometida, PUNTACANA International School y el Politécnico Ann & Ted Kheel han aunado esfuerzos para ayudar a la nación de Haití, cuyos ciudadanos viven una situación crítica en estos momentos.
Toda colaboración será recibida por voluntarios de esas instituciones a partir del 14 de enero y hasta el día 22. Las donaciones pueden llevarse a la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Punta Cana, en horario de lunes a viernes de 7:30 AM a 8:30 AM y de 3:30 PM a 8:00 PM, y los sábados y domingos de 10:00 AM a 12:00 PM. En el caso de los estudiantes la ayuda será entregada en sus respectivos colegios.
Nos dará particular alegría recibir en la Iglesia a las personas de nuestra comunidad que deseen incorporarse a las actividades de recepción, organización, clasificación y empaque de las donaciones recibidas.
A seguidas encontrarán ustedes un listado clasificado por renglones generales de los tipos de ayuda que estaremos recibiendo:
Alimentos:
Habichuelas en lata/Salchichas en lata/Sardinas en lata/Atún en lata/Galletas de soda/Leche Treta pack/Jugos de fruta/Sopas de sobre, lata o Treta pack/Comida preferiblemente enlatada o empacada perdurable en general.
Medicamentos:
Sueros de rehidratación oral/ Gasas /Algodón/ Analgésicos (acetaminofen/Ibuprofeno, etc.)/Cabestrillos/Vendaje elásticos/Toxoide Antitetánico/Gammaglobulina antitetánica humana/Antibióticos(amoxicilina en suspensión y/o comprimidos, etc.)/Antisépticos(tipo yodopovidora o tipo jabón de clorhexidina)/Toallas sanitarias y otras medicinas y materiales médicos de utilidad en estos casos.
SE RUEGA NO TRAER ROPA, excepto sábanas, toallas, casas de campaña, frazadas y cobertores, etc.
Así mismo, agradeceremos si las donaciones se hacen en cajas y que las latas y conservas sean lavadas antes de entregárnoslas. Esto nos ayudará en la labor de clasificación, empaque y envío.

Please be advised that the earthquake that struck Haiti this afternoon was barley felt in the Punta Cana region and did not affect us in any way. Officials acknowledge that all is fine in Punta Cana and they canceled the Tsunami warning which was in effect earlier. We will continue monitoring the situation and report if there are any changes during the evening.

Queremos informarles que el temblor de tierra que afectó al vecino país de Haití en la tarde de hoy, apenas se sintió en el área de Punta Cana, sin consecuencia alguna. Las autoridades han emitido un comunicado desestimando la previa advertencia de tsunami para el área. Continuaremos monitoreando la situación durante esta noche y los mantendremos informados de cualquier cambio o eventualidad.
